With a rap sheet nine pages long, B.J. Bradley was in deep, but God had a different plan. After coming to understand that there was a better way, B.J. went from serving time at the Rockcastle County Jail to conducting worship services there. A grant from the Eliza Broadus Offering provided a portable baptistry which is now used for baptisms at the jail. Through ministry “from the jail house to the church house,” B.J. is providing Bold Hope to many who need to know true freedom.

“I wouldn’t be alive today. Period. I’d be dead” is the opening declaration of a participant in Celebrate Recovery. “I owe my life to the program, to God, and to the members for the support,” is the testimony of one who has found Bold Hope in Christ. Testimonies throughout this video point to the importance of this ministry in leading people to new life in Christ. Grants from the Eliza Broadus Offering have helped to provide resource materials for this ministry.

Young mothers share the Bold Hope they received through the ministries of Appalachian Pregnancy Care Center. Bible study, mentoring, parenting education, help with baby clothes and supplies are all part of this ministry led by Kay Hammond and a host of volunteers. Grants from the Eliza Broadus Offering have helped provide materials for the “Earn While You Learn” program.
Bold Hope: Taking It to the Streets (Food Ministry) click here to download the .mp4
Elkhorn Baptist Association cares for people who live on the streets. Through hot meal and sack lunch ministries, volunteers are sharing the love of Jesus with people who have lost hope. Volunteers give Bold Hope as they become friends with the people that they are serving, checking on them and praying for them. Grants from the Eliza Broadus Offering have helped to provide food and supplies for these ministries.
