“I’m messed up,” declared Dr. Nathan Joyce, pastor of Heartland Worship Center in Paducah.
Joyce shared with conference attendees that he was coming out of the toughest six months of his life. While his ministry was going great, he was struggling at home. Between the six members of her family, there were eight chronic illnesses.
Preaching from John 13, Joyce pointed out that before Jesus called His disciples to wash feet, He washed their feet.
“We are not simply servants of the Lord, we are served servants of the Lord,” said Joyce.
Pastors must be honest about their own neediness and weakness, said Joyce, and rely on Jesus.
