The purpose of the KBMC is to encourage Christian fellowship among Kentucky Baptist music leaders and to promote the ministry of music in our churches and in our denomination. Membership is open to all Baptist church musicians, Baptist music educators and other interested persons.

Dr. Joe Crider is the Ernest and Mildred Hogan Professor of Church Music and Worship at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville and the executive director of the Institute for Biblical Worship at the seminary. He received his Bachelor of Music Education and Master’s in Performance from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and a Doctor of Arts in Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Crider has served as a worship pastor in local churches for more than 25 years, ministering in Colorado, California, Missouri, Virginia and Kentucky. He is currently the worship pastor at La Grange Baptist Church in La Grange, Ky. He has spoken at worship conferences and churches throughout the United States and frequently writes for the Institute of Biblical Worship website, www.biblicalworship.com He and his wife, Amy, who serves as coordinator of the Southern Seminary writing center, have four children: Julianna, Katrina, Cole and Amelia.
