Cooperative Program Sunday

Cooperative Program

CP Sunday is April 11!

Help your congregation understand how they are supporting missions through the Cooperative Program…

What is CP Sunday?

CP Sunday is simply a day to highlight and celebrate the Cooperative Program, the plan Kentucky Baptists – and all Southern Baptists – use to fund missions causes at the state, national and international levels. CP works because it leverages everyone’s gifts in the most efficient way possible.

Why celebrate CP Sunday?

Celebrating CP Sunday is one of the easiest ways to educate your church members about the Cooperative Program. Many Kentucky Baptists contribute significantly to missions through their church’s CP giving but are not aware of how this works or why it is important.

How can we celebrate CP Sunday?

CP Sunday can easily be incorporated into your normal church service on April 11. Even if you can’t celebrate on April 11, you can always designate another CP Sunday for your church. The possibilities are endless!

COOPERATIVE PROGRAM CELEBRATION SUGGESTIONS:

  • Place a Cooperative Program Love in Action budget brochure in the worship guide or hand out as education material on April ll.
  • Distribute a Cooperative Program Mission brochure to all youth through adult Bible study classes.
  • Observe a missions moment using Cooperative Program resource such as CP video or printed materials and offer a prayer of thanksgiving for the world wide impact of Cooperative Program dollars.
  • Show a Cooperative Program video testimony in the morning worship and thank the congregation for investing in missions. Click here to see a list of CP-related videos on our site.
  • Preach a message from Acts 1:8 or Matthew 28:18-20 and use Cooperative Program video or printed materials to illustrate the message.
  • Order and use copies of the Cooperative Program Cram Course in youth – adult Bible study classes.
  • Use a five minute testimony of a church member regarding the impact of a CP funded experience such as Partnership Missions, Disaster Relief, NAMB or IMB mission trip, or a Baptist Collegiate ministry involvement, etc.
  • Include Cooperative Program explanation inserts in a worship guide and give attention to the church’s investment in global missions during a special prayer time.
  • Enlist the WMU or Women’s Ministry involvement in scheduling and promoting a prayer emphasis for the missionary impact of the Cooperative Program.
  • Present a Cooperative Program children’s sermon in the worship time.
  • Invite a CP speaker to your church to inform, educate and inspire the congregation regarding their investment in ministries and missions through the Cooperative Program. To schedule a speaker, call the KBC Executive Office at (502) 489-3577 or (866) 489-3577 (toll free in Kentucky only).

Thank you for your ongoing support of the Cooperative Program!
