About Me
I'm Larry Baker, and I'm the director of the New Work/Associational Missions Department of the Kentucky Baptist Convention. Part of my job is to encourage church planting across Kentucky -- something I'm very passionate about. Our goals related to church planting are:
- to launch 200 new churches, by January 1, 2010
- to have 25 of those new churches launched be High Impact Churches with a target of 250 members in attendance within 5 years
- to have 5 of those High Impact Churches planted in Eastern Kentucky
- to start 50 Language Church-type ministries
My passion for church planting comes from personal experience. I served as a missionary in South America, and had the privilege of helping plant 16 new churches in Peru. After my return to the United States, I served as director of missions for the Christian County Baptist Association in Hopkinsville, Ky.
My hope is that this blog will encourage church planters and their ministry partners.
