About This Blog

pam.gifHi, I'm Pam Cassady and this is the Ministers' Wives Blog.  My husband, Scott, is the pastor of New Life Baptist Church in Auburn, Ky.

This is a place for those of us who live our lives in what some call the fishbowl, meaning that as the family of a minister our lives are on display for all to see and observe. And observe they do. Being a minister's wife can be a wonderful experience, filled with the blessings that come from doing God's work and being surrounded by His people. Being a minister's wife can also be a trying experience. Most people don't understand the pressures associated with being a minister's wife.

That's why KBC has created this blog--to give us a chance to connect with one another. This is our chance to share our hopes and fears, our good experiences and our not so good experiences, and listen to one another with a sympathetic ear and a heart full of love and understanding.

If you and your husband are at your first church and you have no idea what a minister's wife is supposed to do, this site is for you.

If you and your husband have served in the ministry for more years than you can remember and you think, "Boy, have I got some stories to tell," this site is for you.

If you need a place to go for friendship, support, encouragement or a laugh, this site is for you.

If you are a minister's wife, this site is for you.

So pour yourself a cup of coffee, sit back, and let's chat.

God bless,
Pam

GUIDELINES

As ministers' wives, we often find ourselves biting our tongues so often our tongues go numb. Or holding stuff in until we feel like a shaken up soda bottle--ready to explode. This site is a place for us to let out some of those things we don't say. I want this to be a place where we can be ourselves and share our trials and tribulations as well as the positives in our lives.
  • That said, we must keep a few things in mind while chatting on this blog.
  • If we are sharing concerns about certain people and situations in a church, please do not use names. God knows the people and he knows the situation. Be as general as possible. This is not a place for gossip, but a place for sharing, helping and healing.
  • This blog and the comments posted are there for anyone to read. Keep that in mind and realize that you might think you are anonymous but that doesn't mean you are. Also, even if you are anonymous, you are still a Christian and we should make sure all we say reflects that very important aspect of our lives.
  • A good verse to keep in mind is Ephesians 4:29, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."

Sure, sometimes we just need to vent, but we must do it without sliding down into gossip, slander or malice.

Just some things to keep in mind.

Pam
