| The Eliza Broadus Offering for State Missions |
Each year the Eliza Broadus Offering for State Missions is promoted and collected by the Woman's Missionary Union of the Kentucky Baptist Convention. The promotion of the offering coincides with the Season of Prayer for State Missions, held each year in September. The money given is used to support a vast array of ministries in Kentucky. Those ministries include, but are not limited to, disaster relief, Hispanic ministry, Baptist Campus Ministry, Eastern Kentucky ministry centers, and many more.  Eliza Somerville Broadus was the first President of Kentucky WMU. In 1913 Broadus led Kentucky WMU to promote the taking of an annual offering for state missions in all the churches. For this reason, as well as a life spent promoting and supporting missions, the annual offering for state missions was named in her honor in 1975.
