Kentucky Baptist chorales: Musical ambassadors for Christ

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Be an ambassador for Christ through music and join the Kentucky Baptist Men's and Women's chorales.

The 2016-17 chorale season gets underway Sept. 23-24 with a retreat at Living Hope Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Ky.

Men who are interested in participating in the chorale are encouraged to register here. Women can click here to register to participate in the chorale.

All season performances are open to the public and offer opportunities to share the gospel with family and friends.

The 2016-17 chorale season schedule is as follows:

  • Oct. 9, women's chorale, Highview Baptist Church, Louisville, 6 p.m.
  • Oct. 20, combined chorales, Harrodsburg Baptist Church, 7 p.m.
  • Nov. 15, combined chorales, Florence Baptist Church during the KBC Annual Meeting afternoon session
  • Nov. 15, men's chorale, Erlanger Baptist Church, 7 p.m.
  • Feb. 16, men's chorale, Horse Cave Baptist Church, 7 p.m.
  • March 14, combined chorales, Lone Oak First Baptist Church, Paducah, 7 p.m.
  • April 20, men's chorale, Oneida Baptist Institute, 7 p.m.
  • May 7, women's chorale, First Baptist Church, Walton. 7 p.m.

Both chorales are accompanied by the Kentucky Baptist Wind Orchestra, comprised of ministers of music and instrumentalists from Kentucky Baptist churches.

Kentucky Baptist music ministers, worship pastors, church music teachers and even a few pastors have participated in the men's chorale since it was formed in 1965.

The Kentucky Baptist Women's Chorale was formed in 1988 with the goal of encouraging personal and professional improvement, Christian fellowship, ministry, outreach and spiritual growth through music.
