Your help is needed in Colorado
Colorado Baptists are asking Southern Baptists to assist them as they return to help residents in communities devastated by flood waters last fall. More than 80% of the damaged structures are in Boulder, Larimer, and Weld Counties where thousands of families and businesses are still displaced.
Winter weather forced our Disaster Relief teams to close operations before the clean-up and recovery work was complete. With the arrival of the spring thaw we are now able to return to the area and help families get back into their homes.
North American Mission Board is now scheduling teams for May 1, 2014 – October 31, 2014.
The following skills are needed:
Drywall installation and finishing
Flooring Installation– laminate, wood and tile
Fence rebuilding and debris removal on farmers’/ranchers’ fields
Base Camp / Warehouse assistance
Southern Baptists and other faith-based organizations
Adult teams (18 years and above)
Youth teams – All participants must have completed the 7th grade (no one under 14 years of age is permitted in Colorado Flood
Recovery housing or on worksites) – Each team is required to bring one adult, of the same gender, for every five youth participants under the age of 18. Adults must be 21 years of age or older and must reside in the same room as their youth.
Construction activities appropriate for youth are limited. Youth teams should include a high ratio of adults to youth to provide adequate guidance for work activities.
