Teams are requested to assist Loaves & Fishes Ministry with collection/purchase of non-perishable food items and hygiene products for distribution from their pantry. This will be used to prepare and distribute upwards of 200 boxes of groceries per month. Teams are also requested to help with repairs to the Little House Ministry House and their residence. A complete up-to-date list of projects can be found on the project page on their website (www.loavesandfishesmin.org/Project-Page.html ). Pray about it!
Loaves and Fishes Ministry serves and reaches out to the lost and needy low-income families in the Tri-Cities area of Lynch, Benham and Cumberland, Kentucky in Harlan County. Loaves and Fishes also partners with Club 180 Ministry cooking for the after-school students three days a week during the school year and also cooking for the annual Summer Camp the entire month of July. Housing and food preparation:
In Lynch, volunteers can stay across the street from the Fitzwater’s residence at the Little House Ministry House, which sleeps up to 5. A full bathroom, bedding, towels and an equipped kitchen is provided. Across the street and next to their residence is the recently renovated three bedroom, three bath Red Door Mission House, which sleeps up to 18. Volunteers are required to bring sheets and towels. A fully equipped kitchen and laundry is provided. Volunteers are to provide their own meals.
