Point Pleasant Lighthouse Baptist Church is a new church plant with a metal building. The sanctuary is 41’ by 28’. They want to add an addition to one side of this building (41’ by 12’). The building is a metal building with trusses for the roof. They want to frame up the three walls on the addition end and install four trusses, insulation, and sheet rock. The church will pour the cement slab for this project in mid-July. They do not have carpenters or sheet rock installers to put it under roof. All material necessary for the job will be available. The outside of the building is metal, as well as the roof.
The church has been in this building for 17 months, and are beginning to outgrow the sanctuary. They presently have a morning worship service averaging about 45 people, evening service, church training and Wednesday prayer meeting. This addition will give them an additional 50 seats in the sanctuary. They also have men’s prayer breakfasts and ladies’ Bible studies.
They feel like this project could be done in less than a week if they had the manpower. Would like to do this near August 4th if possible.
Size of Teams Needed: 4 or 5 people, carpenters and dry wallers
Housing and Food Preparation:
There is room in the church building where the team can put air mattresses. They have a full kitchen and bathrooms. The ladies of the church will provide meals for the workers. There are also a motel about 10 miles away.
Materials for the project:
All wood for framing, trusses, etc. (metal, nails, insulation) will be on the job site.
