Immanuel Baptist Church is one of Lexington's historic churches founded in 1909, the same year the state capitol was completed in Frankfort. The church sits on more than 22 acres and has 3,200 members.
Immanuel is a multigenerational, multi-site church and was recently named one of the fastest growing churches in the U.S.
In October 2018, the church called Ray Green as its lead pastor. He came from Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany, Indiana, where he served as lead pastor for more than three years.
Green, who has been called a visionary and strategic leader, lives in Lexington with his wife, Sarah, and their two daughters. He has a master's from Dallas Theological Seminary.
