So far, volunteers have completed eight mud-out jobs. They have also made 52 chaplaincy contacts and 36 ministry contacts. They have presented the Gospel once.
A report from Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief volunteer Susan Hampton:
“Yesterday we shoveled and carried five-gallon buckets of mud out of a basement and worked in a Hispanic trailer court where only a few spoke English. We were covered in mud and grime and a little elderly lady hugged me and said ‘gracias, gracias’ as tears poured down her face. Worth it? ‘Yes!’ Every grimy dirty second of it!”
