IMB has asked Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief for a medical team to respond to the civil war crisis in Mali. The team would need to be a team of 3-4 volunteers. Team would need to include at least one doctor and a couple of nurses, physicians assistants or emergency medical technicians. Arrival date of about February 15th. Arrival city would be Bamako, but volunteers need to get ticket cancellation insurance because if the war moves closer to the capital we would have to cancel.
This would be a small team 3 to 4 people and you would need to know that the situation there is volatile but at this time the capital is calm and a staging area for the French and ECOWAS troops moving up country. We must have one medical doctor on this team.
Team would be ministering to refugees who have been forced to flee from the violence of civil war. This is medical team only and DR training is not required. If you could respond or if you know medical contacts who could possibly respond, let me know as soon as possible. Medical volunteers should be believers in Christ as we seek to offer medical and spiritual care to refugees.
