Ernest Boggs, retired Upper Cumberland Baptist Association director of mssions, died on Monday, April 18. He was 80.

In addition to serving with Upper Cumberland Association for 14 years, he was pastor at Chevrolet Baptist Church, Liggett Baptist Church, and Sunshine Baptist Church in Harlan. Boggs also participated in overseas missions and was a church builder.

A veteran of the Marines, serving in Japan, he attended the University of Kentucky and Clear Creek Baptist Bible College.

Boggs was a native of Leslie County. He is survived by his wife, Anna Sue, four children, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church of Loyall on April 20.
