East Marshall Baptist Church has been able to construct a 30’ x 40’ pavilion, depleting the building fund. The completion of electrical accessible restrooms and sidewalks are needed to use the pavilion in an accessible and safe manner.
The pavilion will be the focus of outreach to the resort community served by the congregation. This lake community consists of retirees and summer residents, representing a diverse population with a common attraction to outdoor activities. Numerous outdoor activities are n the planning stage directed at spreading the gospel in a welcoming and fellowshipping environment.
East Marshall Baptist Church is a small and senior congregation, yet has a desire to reach out to the community, especially youth.
The intent is to develop an atmosphere of outreach through a variety of outdoor activities including participation in the National Day of Prayer, golf-cart drive-in movies, fifth Sunday worship and praise, and youth activities. Utilization of the pavilion a less traditional atmosphere of welcome to a broader audience.
This small congregation has adopted their multi-phase project “Hand to the Plow” to target outreach to an outdoor focused community of diverse social-economic background. Many youth are without stable home environments.
