Need:
Volunteer teams continue to be needed to help with home rebuild/repair in Letcher, Knott and Perry counties after the disastrous flood of July 28, 2022. They have numerous jobs in various stages of need. Still needed are groups who can install roll insulation, do general carpentry work, hang sheet rock, repair/replace floor joists, repair/replace sub-floor, put down floor coverings, paint, finish carpentry, electrical and plumbing work, and appliance and fixture installation. However, almost all skill levels can be helpful.
Ministry Description:
Three Forks Baptist Association is affiliated with the Kentucky Baptist Convention and serves 4 counties in eastern Kentucky. This was one of the hardest hit areas during the July 28 flood.
Dates Teams are Needed: Continually – at least until the end of 2024. We are focusing on Spring, Summer and early Fall to try to get as many back into their homes as possible before next winter.
Size of Teams Needed: 3-60. These don’t have to be big groups. Smaller teams with skilled members can do most of what is needed.
Housing and Food Preparation:
Housing is “DR style” at area churches (bring your own cot/air mattress, linens, toiletries, etc. and cook for & feed your own group).
Cost per Person: There is no cost, but a donation to the host church to offset the cost of utilities is appreciated.
Materials for Project: Materials will be provided, and some tools are available.
