Crossings Internships are designed to equip young people for life, work and ministry. Our internships provide personalized life and career investment through mentoring and weekly workshops. Interns are poured into by intentional supervisors who are committed to helping them grow and develop as Christians, servants and employees.
Joshua Reichard, a former intern turned full-time employee for Crossings ministry partner, Baptist Haiti Mission, said, “I chose Crossings because of their great internship program. I knew I would be invested in by the Directors and that I would receive valuable training for my future ministry.”
Mitch Wiley, a current intern commented on the influence it had on his leadership: “The leadership lessons learned from doing this over a few months is invaluable to my personal growth.”
We also require interns to attend a two-hour workshop every Wednesday that works through a carefully crafted curriculum that teaches them ministry philosophy, business skills, office basics, and life habits that will prepare them for a fruitful life in ministry or the workplace. This past year included workshops on the gospel, business communications, personal and business budgeting, strategic planning, spiritual disciplines, leadership, work as worship, and much more.
Dan Talcott, director of business management, teaches regularly in the internship and relishes the opportunity to invest in young people. “God has wired us to be a part of community. We need discipling relationships with people that work around us and live around us,” he said. “The internship provides me an opportunity to invest in interns, learn from them, and fellowship with them — and hopefully build into the next generation.”
Internships begin May 1 every year and run until the following year, allowing our interns to participate in a full camp cycle before they help us plan and execute the following year. The specific responsibilities depend on the location and the position. Interns who work in Central Office help run our social media, write curriculum, recruit summer staffers, and represent Crossings at events and conferences. Interns at our properties help with the summer camp programming, food service, guest hospitality and facilities maintenance.
If you or someone you know is interested in growing as a leader while gaining valuable ministry experience, apply to Crossings internships at www.gocrossings.org/internship.
