Schedule and Transportation

Friday: Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. with dinner beginning at 6:00 p.m. All singers must arrive in time for the first rehearsal which begins at 7:00 p.m. and remain with the group through the end of the final worship event on Sunday.

Transportation: Each church is responsible for transportation to Cedarmore on Friday and to both church locations on Sunday.

Our weekend will be filled with rehearsals, bible study, great food, new friends and even some free time. A detailed schedule will be sent to those who register.

Sunday: After breakfast and a devotional time together, we will leave from Cedarmore at 9:45 a.m. Parents who are not serving as chaperones are welcome to meet us at the worship experiences. At the conclusion of our final presentation, children will be dismissed to leave with their parents/church group.

"I remember my first KBC Children’s choir audition – my worship pastor recorded me singing “When I survey the Wondrous Cross” and sent it off. Each year after my acceptance, I looked forward to receiving my folder of music for the coming year’s choir."

"From the “dirty socks” and “whooping bird” warmups, to lunch conversations, to hours of singing each day, children’s choir remains a vibrant memory in my heart where I was encouraged to join with my peers to make music for the Lord."

"When I think back on my week with KBC’s Children's Choir, I’m flooded with gratitude for all the amazing rehearsal, performance, and worship leading experience that was packed in such a short time. Our directors and conductors were all outstanding!"

"The opportunity to be apart of a great choir is always rare, but I especially treasure those choral experiences that have a higher calling than just the music itself, and that’s what I came away with from KBC Children's Choir."

How does this compare with the KBC All-State Children's Choir in the past?

These things are the same…

  • Retreat at Cedarmore (lodging and meals included in cost)
  • Enthusiastic/Gifted Leadership Team
  • Worship Experiences at two churches on Sunday
  • Music selections that help us worship AND have fun!
  • Church leaders prepare singers ahead of the weekend
  • Churches provide chaperones for your singers

Here’s what is different…

  • The name (Now Kentucky Baptist Convention Children’s Choir)
  • Open to singers in grades 3-6 (we added 3rd graders this year)
  • No audition required (the more the merrier)!
