LOUISVILLE — Baptist Haiti Mission has appointed Andrew Lambert of Louisville as field director.

Lambert, who is completing a master of divinity degree at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, served for 25 years in the U.S. Air Force, where he specialized in operations management.

Baptist Haiti Mission President Jeff Dalrymple, who also leads Crossings Ministries, is thrilled Lambert will be joining BHM’s staff.

“Andy’s unique combination of decades of leadership experience and commitment to theological integrity make him an invaluable addition to Baptist Haiti Mission’s staff on the field,” Dalrymple said. “As Baptist Haiti Mission seeks to grow and strengthen our service to the church, Andy’s leadership as field director will be key to our success on the ground and in people’s hearts.”

Since its founding in 1948, Baptist Haiti Mission has planted and partnered with more than 350 churches across Haiti to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. The mission provides programs to meet physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the Haitian people. Agriculture, carpentry, mechanic work and construction are done at the mission, providing jobs which allow many Haitians to support their families.

Baptist Haiti Mission also offers theological education and support for Haitian pastors and church leaders, and a hospital on BHM’s property offers a range of preventative care and treatment throughout the mountain area.

BHM Chairman of the Board Ron Pierre expressed excitement for Lambert’s addition.

“As Baptist Haiti Mission enters its 65th year of ministry to the Haitian people, the Lord continues to bless and provide us with godly men and women who are obedient to His sovereign call,” Pierre said. “The appointment of Andrew Lambert as field director, along with his wife Kristin, is further indication of God’s hand upon this ministry

“There could be no better gift to the mission than Andy and Kristin,” Pierre added. “We look forward to continuing our mission of strengthening the Haitian church for the glory of God in the days ahead.”

The Lamberts are members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Louisville, where he participates in its pastoral apprenticeship program. (Crossings)
