Frankfort—Jeremy Weaver joined Franklin Baptist Association as director of missions Sept. 1.
Weaver most recently served as pastor of Crossway Baptist Church in Lenior City, Tenn., and was a member at Farmdale Baptist Church in Frankfort.
He and his wife Magaly have served in various capacities in ministry from janitor to church planter. Weaver’s heart and vision for Franklin Association is stated in his new job title as director of missions.
“I have a good sense that God is working among the churches of Franklin Baptist Association. I want to be a part of that, so the way that I’m going about this is I’m trying to implement a mission’s emphasis within the association,” Weaver said.
He continued, “I believe an association is an organization for home missions, local missions and wider North American missions and International missions through the Southern Baptist Convention and Kentucky Baptist Convention. That’s what I’m pushing for, and I think we can make a difference.”
He hopes to spearhead an associational mission conference to feature local missionaries, missionaries outside the association, and missionaries from various SBC entities to connect with church leaders within his association.
“I’m looking forward to working with Jeremy and trust he’ll be a unifying and challenging missional leader for the association,” Eric Allen, the KBC’s missions mobilization team leader, said. “I am excited that Jeremy is so eager to partner with the KBC so that we can work together to strengthen existing churches and plant new ones.” (WR)
