Elizabethtown– Fifteen congregations were welcomed into the Kentucky Baptist Convention, joining a family of nearly 2,400 Baptist churches in the commonwealth.
Messengers approved the 15 churches for affiliation, more than twice the number presented last year. Additionally, four Kentucky Baptist churches were placed under watchcare.
Allen Bonnell, chairman of the KBC’s Committee on Credentials, presented the churches for affiliation.
Newly affiliated churches are: Bluegrass Cowboy Church, Carlisle; Crosspoint Church, Morehead; CrossPoint Church, Walton; Eastpoint Community Church, Louisville; Iglesia Bautista Fe en Cristo (Faith in Christ), Elizabethtown; Kentucky Myanmar Christian Church, Louisville; Life Point Church of Franklin, Owenton;
Mission Church, Alvaton; New Hope Baptist Fellowship, Owenton; Open Door Baptist Church, Mayfield; Redemption Hill Baptist Church, Fisherville; Riverwoods Church, Benton; The Church at Louisville; Truth Baptist Church, Radcliff; and Yahweh Baptist, Mayfield.
Congregations joining under watchcare status are Beaver Creek Southern Baptist Church in Topmost; Salt and Light Baptist Church in Crestwood; Thoroughbred Community Church in Lexington; and Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Ekron.
Churches under watchcare are typically beginning their acquaintance with KBC missions and ministries. (KBC)
