Many of our students do not experience time on the mission field until after they come to Clear Creek. For first year student McKenzie Gilbert, the mission field led her to Clear Creek.

“My husband Ryan and I just started at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College this year,” said McKenzie. “My call to the Creek actually began when I surrendered to Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was a young girl. Since then God has carried me through many situations.
“When I graduated from high school in 2016, I went to college at a secular school. While attending there I got involved in a campus ministry and began to listen to God’s call on my life. I went on my first mission trip to Ecuador where God worked in my heart to reveal His call for me to enter the ministry of missions full-time. At the time I wasn’t sure what that meant or what it looked like, but I knew that He did.
“That next summer in 2017. after I finished my first year of college, I went on another mission trip with my church to Lynch, Ky.,” recalled McKenzie. “There I met my amazing husband, and God started to make it more evident that I was supposed to be pursuing missions. When I got home, my husband and I went with the Kentucky Baptist Convention Disaster Relief team to help with hurricane recovery in Florida. This was a huge decision to go since it was in the middle of my college semester and I was going to miss class for two weeks. While on the trip, God lead me to withdraw from the university I was attending and to pursue missions full-time.
“Soon after we got back my husband and I got married,” said McKenzie. “God had also been calling him to full-time ministry, so we began to look for a Christian school that could help us grow in God’s love and grace to prepare for ministry. As we were looking, we came across Clear Creek Baptist Bible College online and decided to visit on Spring Preview Day. As soon as we arrived on campus, God told us we were home. He has guided us to transition to Clear Creek smoothly and we are blessed to be here. As we continue our time here we look forward to growing closer with God and being able to serve His church and the community.”
