I love Advent season and most all the activities surrounding it! Gift giving, reconnecting with family, serving the community and special programs at church are just some of what makes this season special for many of us. However, if we’re not careful, we can quickly lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas — the gift of the Lord Jesus Christ and the simple joy of making Him known to people who are far from God.

It’s important for us to remember that while Advent may evoke warm feelings in some, for others, feelings of loneliness and hopelessness often prevail. Churches who are intentionally evangelistic in this season will find significant gospel-sharing ministry opportunities among the hurting and those searching for purpose and meaning.
One KBC church seeking a significant gospel impact in their community at Christmas time is Falmouth Baptist Church. Led by Pastor Cohen Copley, Falmouth is planning for a “Who’s Your One?” kind of Christmas!
‘Who’s Your One?’ is a NAMB-sponsored evangelism mobilization strategy where church members make a commitment to:
• Identify their One — a person far from God who is in their network of relationships.
• Pray daily for their One that they would have a receptive heart to the gospel.
• Seek to invite their One to be their guest in worship.
• Seek to have a gospel conversation with their One.
Many churches’ campaigns culminate with a “Big Day” evangelistic worship service. Bro. Cohen got excited about ‘Who’s Your One?’ while attending a ‘Train the Trainer’ event this past May. He said, the initiative “had an authentic feel to it.” Christmas is an ideal time to consider how you can personally embrace ‘Who’s Your One?’.
“People are more open to an invitation to church during Christmas and ‘Who’s Your One?’ seems like a good fit to help our folks leverage that openness. I hope that many people will trust in Christ, but I also hope that our church members will have a heightened awareness of the lostness all around them.”
Pray for Bro. Cohen and Falmouth Baptist Church as it plans for a “Who’s Your One?” Christmas harvest. And while you’re at it, get in on the joy of giving this Christmas season by identifying your One and sharing the gospel with that person today!
