Daniel Hunt Sr., pastor of Faith Family Ministries in Oak Grove, died on Tuesday, Oct. 6, in Nashville. He was 67.
Hunt had been battling cancer for a little over a year after losing his wife in 2013.
He was a church planter with the Kentucky Baptist Convention and a former pastor of Beech Grove, Elk Horn and New Covenant Baptist churches, among others.
Faith Family Ministries was the fourth church he planted. His heart there was with reaching and discipling military members and their families.
A graduate of Campbellsville College, he previously served in the United States Navy, serving active duty in the Vietnam War. While in school, he was pastor of his first church, outside of Cattlesburg.
Additionally, he studied at the Criswell Center in Dallas, Tex., and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville.
He is survived by two sons, one daughter, grandchildren and a many other relatives. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made by donating to Faith Family Ministries Mercy Ministry.
