Clear Creek is glad to have a tuition agreement with Oneida Baptist Institute where students who are called to do ministry can get a discounted tuition rate when they continue their studies with us. Sam Fonseca is one of our Oneida students who is enjoying his studies at Clear Creek.
“My family is originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, but we moved to Africa in 2009” said Fonseca. “My dad was a pastor for 13 years before we left for Africa. My mom is a nurse. I also have a brother who is a student at Oneida Baptist Institute.
“I made a profession of faith when I was a young child,” said Fonseca. “But during my senior year I realized that I was really lost, and I recognized my need for a Savior. I repented from my sins and then surrendered my life fully to Christ. I am thankful to God for opening my eyes to my need for salvation.
“I know God has placed a calling on my life to be a missionary” said Fonseca. “I am thankful for a place like Clear Creek where I can be equipped for that ministry. Clear Creek is definitely not an easy school to attend. The work load is heavy and the tests are substantial but it has definitely helped me. My favorite courses so far are New Testament 1 and Old Testament 1. They are also the hardest classes I have taken. Once I got into the Bible, and started to study theology and the Word it is amazing to see how much I did not know.
“The coursework is definitely challenging, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything,” he said. “It helps me in the ministry because you start reading for yourself and really understanding what is being read. That is important especially for ministry leaders who are responsible to teach others.
“I would recommend Clear Creek to anyone who is called to do ministry,” said Fonseca. “It will be challenging and you have to study hard. You will be taught the Bible, how to be a leader in the ministry, and how to deal with other leaders in the ministry. If God has called you, don’t wait; the longer you wait, the more you miss.”
