Ministry Description – The primary focus of Capitol Commission is three-fold.
First, is the Ministry of Prayer. I encourage all believers, regardless of political ideology or denominational commitment to pray for each and every legislator and staff in our state capitol. One key resource in this regard is subscribing for free at https://www.pray1tim2.org/ where you can pray each day for our elected officials.
Secondly, we are committed to the Ministry of Presence. Engaging with leaders and staff regularly to share the gospel, meet needs, and make disciples is a vital work of the ministry.
The third priority is the Ministry of Proclamation. Gospel clarity and witness are important. This is primarily accomplished through weekly Bible studies for both legislators and staff as well as offering free resources.
Through the means of these priorities, I hope to see the gospel of Christ accomplish three things.
First, Redemption among the lost. The only hope of the world is the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is my prayer that all we encounter may come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Secondly, Reconciliation. The gospel brings with it unity rooted in love. Given the divided context, it is my prayer to see our identity found first in Christ and through the gospel, genuine unity, love, and reconciliation take place.
Finally, Relationships. What unites believers is not political ideology but salvation in Jesus Christ. Through discipleship, I hope to see genuine believers build relationship that reproduce in our communities.
