LOUISVILLE—Save money online and automatically generate a little donation to local churches with KBC iBennie.
The Kentucky Baptist Convention Business and Finance Committee approved offering KBC iBennie—a new membership loyalty program—to members of all 2,400 affiliated churches. User benefits include savings on travel, entertainment and medications, as well as earning shoppers up to 20 percent at more than 2,000 online retailers.
“We are a private label platform that comes alongside you as you shop,” said Brad Renzelman, president of iBennie, at the May Mission Board meeting in Louisville. He described it as a great stewardship opportunity where members can save money and churches can get additional charitable donations.
For each online transaction made through KBC iBennie, users can designate individual churches to receive:
- 1 percent on members’ travel and event ticket purchases;
- 50 cents on each prescription fulfillment;
- $10 for each annual Entertainment coupon book membership;
- 10 percent of members’ cash back on all other shopping.
KBC Finance and Business Services Team Leader Lowell Ashby said plans are to launch the platform this summer with a pilot group of 100-250 churches.
“We see it as a way for churches to have extra money for mission trips and ministries,” said Ashby. (KBC)
