Christmas is coming! We’ll see it in decorated homes and malls. We’ll smell it in holiday scented candles and perfumes. We’ll hear it blaring out of speakers and quietly behind elevator doors. We’ll experience it in our churches as they help prepare us for its true meaning—when five candles encircled by a wreath are lit, reminding us of a Savior who brought hope, peace, joy, and love to a world in need.

Christmas—the holiday children love the most. Well, most children. There are some children, even in Kentucky, who feel that they have no hope this Christmas. They are praying for peace, yearning for joy, and longing to be loved.

But you can change that. Sunrise is giving you an opportunity to help children in Kentucky experience the wonder and joy of Christmas. You can be the one to answer their prayers and meet their needs in a very tangible and meaningful way. Here’s how:

Christmas Sponsorship Program

Shop directly from a child’s Christmas wish list or make a donation, and we’ll do the shopping for you. Complete wish lists can be filled, starting at $60 and up to $150, depending on the child’s age. Write “Christmas Sponsorship” in the memo section of your check. Call (502) 640-1828 or email kchristmas@sunrise.org to sign up. Gifts are due by Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Gifts in Honor or in Memory of Someone Special

Not sure what to give your loved ones this Christmas? Give them a gift that truly makes a difference! Make a gift in honor or in memory of someone special. We will notify that person or family member that you’re sponsoring a Sunrise child. Write in the memo section of your check, “Christmas Sponsor in Memory/Honor of” and include the person’s name.

Christmas Gatherings

At this year’s Christmas gathering, encourage your guests to bring gifts or gift cards for the children at Sunrise. Designate a time to talk about the children; maybe even share one of our videos. You can go to www.sunrise.org/resources.

End-of-Year Gifts

An end-of-year gift to Sunrise will greatly benefit the children we serve. Your end-of-year gift can help provide hope, peace, joy, and love to children in need all year long.
