Emergency Christian Ministries is seeking an on-site coordinator, either couple or single, who will serve alongside the director, in minister to the physical & spiritual needs of the homeless in the area. Aspects of the ministry would include registering clients, assisting with identification retrieval (driver’s license, Social Security, etc.,) encouraging and assisting with job placement, aiding with the GED process, overseeing resident’s work schedule at the shelter, organizing and distributing donated foodstuff and other stock, coordinating with churches in their ministry to ECM, room inspections, coordinating maintenance of building and equipment, overseeing ministry to residents, sharing the Gospel with the lost and lead in discipleship of Christian residents.
Emergency Christian Ministries was started in 1991 and is closely tied to the South Union Mount Zion Baptist Association. ECM provides those who find themselves homeless by providing accessibility to a safe, clean, warm, and dry place to live during a transitory time in their lives. Most of all, ECM desires to meet the spiritual needs, as well as the physical needs of the residents. ECM also provides clothing, food, Bibles, transportation needs, etc. ECM also provides laundry facilities and/or showers to those who are traveling through the area. ECM also assists residents to find employment & permanent housing.
Applicants must show leadership, be consequent with a flavor of compassion, and demonstrate a tough love as they deal with the residents
