Ministry Description / Vision

The vision of Christ Community Baptist Church has been the vision of the church from the very beginning. As those redeemed by the blood of Christ, our vision is to bring God glory in all we do. The primary way we glorify God is by gathering together as a church to sing His praises, offer Him our prayers, hear His Word, and love and care for one another (John 13:34-35).

Despite churches being on almost every street corner, eastern Kentucky is in great need for greater gospel clarity and proclamation. To that end, since April 2022, my co-pastor Seth Daniels and I have labored to lead our congregation in making Christian disciples by declaring, displaying, and defending the gospel to the glory of God and the eternal good of our neighbors.

Ministry & Prayer Updates
I am thrilled to report that a man who has been visiting our church for many months professed faith in Christ and was baptized earlier this month after our worship gathering. He has been gathering for many months, and this is the pattern I have seen the Lord working in at CCBC; we have not seen “quick” fruit, but fruit nonetheless over time and many seasons of tending and watering the implanted Word of God.
In July, we will continue the regular ministry activities of Lord’s Day worship; Wednesday evening prayer and Bible Study; and Saturday men’s and women’s breakfast. However, in addition, we are having an event at the Cliffside Apartment complex (government housing) near our church to hand out Ice-e’s for the children and gospel tracts to families represented. This event will be Friday, July 10th. Our current facility is not adequate for a VBS yet, so we try to fill that gap by taking the gospel to where the children live.
Please be in prayer for a 6 month old boy in our church. He has been diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH), which is a rare disorder where the body produces an overabundance of immature Langerhans cells (a type of white blood cell). The treatment is the same for cancer, so he has already endured two chemo treatments and steroids. The treatment is going well, but it is having an impact on his little body. Please pray for God to grant full healing and strength and perseverance for his parents, who are members at CCBC. We voted as a church to give them $1,000.00 to help cover travel expenses as their son has to go to Lexington every week for treatment.
