There are 1500 Deaf who die daily somewhere in the world without Jesus. We want to change that.

There are many exciting opportunities for the deaf and hard of hearing and their families to connect with one another – and with God – throughout Kentucky. In addition to the dozens of deaf churches and ministries, special events are held each year. This outreach with Deaf provides ways to study the Word, practice what is learned, and grow together with the hope to reach those who have not yet seen the story.

Kentucky Baptist Convention Deaf outreach is a partner of the Kentucky Baptist Conference of the Deaf and the Southern Baptist Conference of the Deaf. This ministry also receives funding from the Eliza Broadus Offering for State Missions.

The mission of the Kentucky Baptist Conference of the Deaf is to encourage Kentucky Baptist deaf church members, leaders, pastors, interpreters, ministries, missions and churches to obey and fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) through purpose driven worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, evangelism and missions.

Services & Ministries

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. Many of the churches and ministries of KBCD are small and ASL Bible studies held in members’ homes.

KBCD also wants to encourage Christian interpreters to become skilled in ASL. Each year for the Southern Baptist Conference of the Deaf annual conference the Interpreter Training Program looks for quality presenters to offer CEUs that are ways to meet the requirements of Kentucky license in a Christian environment.
