Frankfort—As a stop on his “Decision America Tour 2016,” Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham and president of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, is holding a rally at the Capitol in Frankfort on Wednesday, May 4, at noon.
The rallies, held in many other states already, have seen sizable turnouts. The goal of the tour is to visit all 50 states, holding a prayer rally and preaching the gospel.
Graham is encouraging Christians to vote and to “to live out their faith in every part of their lives, and to pray for our nation just as Nehemiah cried out to God to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and restore hope to His people,” according to the BGEA’s website.
“America is at a crossroads, and I believe we should take every opportunity to stand up for the things of God and His Word,” Graham stated.
He refrains from endorsing candidates or having politicians speak at the rallies, choosing instead to encourage Christians to run for office and to vote for those who uphold Biblical principles.
Kentucky Baptist Convention Executive Director Paul Chitwood urges “as many Kentucky Baptists as possible to attend this event and pray that the people of our state and nation wake up to their need for Jesus.”
