CADIZ—Little River Baptist Association is hosting a retirement celebration for Lavina Marlowe on Sunday, June 7, from 2-4 p.m., in the Baptist Center, in recognition of her 23 years of dedicated service.

LAGRANGE—Clay Sommer has accepted the call to serve as minister of music/associate pastor at DeHaven Church. He and his wife, Lisa, have two adult sons. Ross Bauscher is pastor.

MAYFIELD—Oak Grove Church hosted the spring meeting of the J.H. Spencer Historical Society. Don Houston spoke on “The Life and Legacy of J.M. Frost” and Gary Frizzell spoke on “What Kentucky Baptists Used to Believe about the Church.”
