Candyce Clifft is co-host of “WDRB In the Morning.” She is also an active member of Hurstbourne Baptist Church. In 2012, Candyce was selected as Most Admired Woman in Media by Today’s Woman Magazine. She is a wonderful example of a Christian living out faith in the workplace. She is also a terrific role model for young girls.
In January, Candyce spoke at St. Matthews Baptist Church’s annual Dad/Daughter Banquet. She was a huge hit. Here are some of the insights and wisdom Candyce shared that evening.
Listen to your parents! They are your biggest cheerleaders. They want you to succeed.
Choose friends who love you for who you are! Be wary of those who only like you if you dress, act or talk a certain way.
Be nice to everybody! At the same time, understand this doesn’t mean you have to like everybody or run with everybody. Just treat everyone the way you want to be treated.
Be yourself! Remember that God made you. Celebrate the ways in which you are different from others instead of trying to be like everybody else.
Follow your dreams! Try things you are interested in and keep trying even if at first you don’t succeed. Be passionate as you pursue what you feel gifted by God to do.
Include God in everything you do! Be faithful to God– especially in your prayers. As you pray, ask God to show you His will for every part of your life– your work, your spouse … everything. Put God first and center your life around Him.
