Louisville—Warm up those vocal cords and cue the spotlight. It’s time to audition for the Kentucky Baptist All-State Children’s Choir.
“We have some amazing talent in our churches,” said Jason Stewart, music ministry consultant for the Kentucky Baptist Convention.
Children’s choir leaders have until Feb. 17 to submit auditions for children in grades 4-6.
“As ministers of music, we have a responsibility to nurture these God-given talents and bless a lost world,” he said. “Plus, it’s just a lot of fun for the kids.”
Stewart said past auditions reveal the passion and dedication of children’s music leaders in Kentucky.
Among that list of devoted leaders are All-State Children’s Choir Co-Directors Roxanne Nanney, minister of music at First Baptist Church of Brandenburg, and Lisa Hussung, elementary school music teacher in Bowling Green and wife of Rich Pond Baptist Church Pastor Steve Hussung.
Choir members will have two days of rehearsals beginning April 22 at Cedarmore Camp and Conference Center in Bagdad, before performing concerts at Mount Washington First Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Bowling Green on April 24.

Entrants should be active participants in a Kentucky Baptist church music program. Once selected, students may continue to participate in the choir through sixth grade. (KBC)
