Joshua Kim was born in South Korea and grew up in a Christian family. During his teenage years, his father planted a church in their local community, and Joshua dedicated many years helping the church there. With the desire and calling to serve God as a pastor, he pursued studies in theology and social work in S. Korea. In 2003, Joshua moved to the United States to further his education and graduated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with an M. Div. Since 1998, he has served seven churches across S. Korea and the United States as a pastor, with church planting experiences in Virginia, Northern Kentucky, and the Elizabethtown area.
He carries a vision to see more multi-language churches in America where people from every nation, tribe, and language can praise our God in heaven (Revelation 7:9-10). Many are sent as missionaries to the nations, but there are also many unreached people groups that are coming and are already here in states. Joshua strongly desires to see a glimpse of heaven here in Kentucky, and he believes great and ripe harvest fields are in our communities. He sees the need and carries a passion to mobilize Kingdom laborers to reach out with the gospel. Joshua is married to his wife Suk-hee, who is a tenured professor at Northern Kentucky University (NKU), and they have three wonderful children, Esther, Eunice, and Elijah.
How Joshua helps churches:
Joshua helps and works alongside churches and church plants in Kentucky that see the need and have a heart to reach people with the gospel in languages other than English. If your church plans to plant one of these churches in your community, need information, or would like to learn more about and pray for multilingual ministries, you can send an email to Joshua.kim@kybaptist.org.
