St. Louis—LifeWay Christian Resources will provide a free breakfast for pastors and screen two new movies at the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting in St. Louis.
The focus of the LifeWay Pastors’ Breakfast will be “Leading Change in the Church,” featuring LifeWay President and CEO Thom Rainer, followed by a panel discussion of critical issues in effectively navigating change.
The panel will include two Kentuckians: Ron Edmondson, of Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington, and Kevin Smith, of Highview Baptist Church in Louisville.
Other panel participants are Sam Rainer, West Bradenton Baptist Church, Bradenton, Fla., and Jimmy Scroggins, Family Church, West Palm Beach, Fla. Eric Geiger, vice president of LifeWay’s Resources Division, will serve as moderator.
The free breakfast will be held June 15, beginning at 7 a.m. in the America’s Center Ballroom, rooms 220-229. Attenders will also receive resources worth more than $100. Advance reservations can be made at www.lifeway.com/pastorsbreakfast.
LifeWay Films will screen “The Insanity of God,” a documentary produced by the International Mission Board that examines experiences of persecuted believers living in China, the Middle East, and former Soviet republics. The film is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Nik Ripken and published by B&H Publishing.
“The Insanity of God” will be shown free of charge in Ferrara Theatre at America’s Center on April 13 at 9 p.m. Tickets are not required, but seating will be limited.
LifeWay Films is also finalizing plans to screen an additional movie Tuesday evening in Ferrara Theatre following the SBC plenary session. The film selected will be announced closer to the meeting. (BP)
