Ron Crow has been the Disaster Relief Director for the Kentucky Baptist Convention since February 2021. His passion for disaster relief began in 2003 when he experienced his first Southern Baptist disaster relief team following a tornado that swept near the church where he served as pastor. Because of this experience, he led his association in starting a disaster relief ministry. His passion and involvement continued to grow deeper over the years serving locally, state leadership, and national roles. Ron has been in ministry over 36 years, with 23 of those in a position as senior pastor; the last 16 at First Baptist Church in Diamond, MO. Ron and Lisa lived in the southwest Missouri area all of their lives before moving to Kentucky. They left their two daughters, four grandsons, and their extended family to follow God’s call to come to Kentucky. Their church home is First Baptist Church in Shelbyville. Ron also co-authored with Jerry Hensley the book Guns and the Gospel a look at the Gospel through a passion for guns, shooting, and reloading.
How Ron helps churches:
Ron assists churches by providing training in the disaster relief ministry that brings people out of the pew and into the field. Regional trainings and specialized trainings are also available. Ron also works with churches in developing them as a Ready Church in helping them prepare, connect, and respond in times of crisis or disaster in their own community. This training and consultation is provided by the cooperative giving of our KBC churches.
