Kentucky Baptist Convention Children’s Choir

April 24-26, 2020

The Kentucky Baptist Convention Children’s Choir is an auditioned choir made up of young musicians from Baptist churches throughout Kentucky. Members are chosen by audition and, once selected, may continue to participate from fourth grade through sixth grade.

We will meet at Cedarmore Camp and Conference Center and lead in two worship experiences on Sunday. The dates for this event are April 24-26, 2020. Choir members receive music several weeks ahead of the rehearsal weekend, and local church choir directors help the children prepare for the music. When the choir comes together, it spends several hours "polishing" the music and preparing for worship experiences presented in churches on Sunday.

Retreat: Cedarmore Camp and Conference Center, 3083 Cedarmore Rd, Bagdad, KY 40003

Audition Details

Choir members must be in 4th, 5th or 6th grade and active participants in the music program of a Kentucky Baptist Church. Members are chosen by recorded audition. Auditions are to be prepared by the singer's Minister of Music or Choir Director and submitted to the Worship and Music Department of the Kentucky Baptist Convention by February 27, 2020.

The more you rehearse your singers, the greater opportunity they have to be chosen for the choir. See the  Audition Checklist and  Audition Practice Form attached below.

An audition fee of $10 per church must be submitted along with your registration. (2019-2020 Kentucky Baptist Music Conference Member Churches do not pay an audition fee). When your registration is received, a link to the actual AUDITION FORM will be sent to you in your confirmation email. The confirmation email also contains links to videos that will help you and your singers with the audition process.

DO NOT PRACTICE the tonal memory items on the AUDITION FORM.  There are other examples to rehearse with your singers on the Audition Practice Form.
