ASHLAND—Pikeville pastor Brian Horton has been called as director of missions for Greenup Baptist Association. He assumes his new ministry role in early October.
Horton was called as Greenup’s director of missions at a special called meeting of the association’s executive board held at Rose Hill Baptist Church in Ashland Aug. 27.
With more than 25 years of ministry experience, Horton has been pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Pikeville since 2012. He has served on the Mission Board of the Kentucky Baptist Convention and in several capacities with Pike Association.
Horton also has served churches in Virginia, South Carolina, Kentucky and Georgia.
A native of South Carolina, he is a graduate of University of South Carolina Upstate and holds masters and doctorate degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Tara have one son, Adam. (WR)
