What is the Kentucky Baptist Convention Youth Choir & Orchestra?

The Kentucky Baptist Convention Youth Choir & Orchestra is a 60-plus voice choir and orchestra for students in grades 9 through 12. The YCO exists to encourage talented high school students to grow spiritually, musically and relationally. Each year the choir meets in June at a different location in the state for rehearsals before setting out to present several worship experiences in Kentucky Baptist churches.

The YCO is comprised of some of the finest high school students in Kentucky Baptist churches. All students must have completed at least one year of high school prior to June 2020. Acceptance into the YCO is based on a recommendation from each student’s music minister or director.

Members are selected by recorded audition. Once selected, members will not have to re-audition to participate with the YCO in subsequent years, as long as the student remains eligible by grade and participation.

The 2021 Kentucky Baptist Convention Youth Choir & Orchestra has been canceled due to COVID complications. Be on the lookout for a 2022 event.
