Steve Rice has served as Team Leader of the Church Consulting & Revitalization Team since 2012. Before coming to the Kentucky Baptist Convention, he served as Senior Pastor of four Kentucky Baptist churches. Steve is a graduate of Morehead State University (B.A.), Luther Rice Seminary (M.Div.), and Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary (D.Min.). Steve is married to Laura Thornton Rice. They have three children and four grandchildren. Steve has a passion for the local church and has led the churches he pastored to experience significant levels of revitalization. Steve runs almost every day and has completed marathons and ultra-marathons including the historic Boston Marathon. Steve authors a church-oriented blog (stephencraigrice.com) where he writes about church revitalization, church health, discipleship, and other church-related subjects. Steve leads the national SBC Church Revitalization Network that he co-founded in 2013.
How Steve helps churches:
Steve helps churches by serving as a Team Leader. The Team Leaders meet regularly with Executive Director, Dr. Todd Gray to help shape the direction and ministries of the Kentucky Baptist Convention. He serves as a consultant and manages a team of field-oriented church consultants. He gives personal leadership to the KBC Conflict Ministries, the Equip Tour, the Shepherding event, Church Security matters, and the Calling Out the Called Initiative.
