Louisville– Sixty-six young Baptists band together later this month to celebrate God’s gift of music on a four-city worship tour.
The Kentucky Baptist Convention’s All State Youth Choir and Orchestra begins its jaunt through central Kentucky on June 22 at Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville.
Leading the worship experiences are conductors Mickey Ballard, Sue Ellen Ballard and Scott Bersaglia.
Mickey Ballard serves as the minister of Music and Worship at Central Baptist Church in Paris. He previously taught at Eastern Kentucky University, has conducted the KBC Men’s Choral, and served many Kentucky churches as a minister or clinician.
Sue Ellen Ballard is the choral director at Bourbon County Middle School and organist at Central Baptist. She has served at Eastern Kentucky University, Transylvania University, Georgetown College and in public school systems in Mississippi and Kentucky.
Bersaglia is the founder and music director of the Sacred Winds Ensemble, as well as founder and chairman of Sacred Winds Ministries. He serves as the director of bands for Pikeville Independent Schools where he oversees and directs the district’s instrumental music curriculum. Bersaglia recently served as the interim minister of music at First Baptist Church of Pikeville, and will join First Baptist Church of Hazard in July as part-time music minister.
