Somerset—A Kentucky Baptist treasure is set to retire, marking 50 years of faithful gospel ministry. Stephen Hall, the full-time minister of music and education at High Street Baptist Church in Somerset, capped off 23 years of ministry at the church April 30.
Ed Amundson, pastor at High Street, hails Hall’s faithful ministry contributions through the years, calling him “one of the key factors in the current growth, new construction and overall gospel success at HSBC.”
During his career, Hall has served churches in both Tennessee and Kentucky, and he has been an integral member of the Kentucky Baptist Men’s Choral.
Hall was recognized with an award from several of his peers by Jason Stewart, worship/music consultant for the Kentucky Baptist Convention, who was on-hand to present the award at Hall’s retirement party.
Hall and his wife, Claudia, served on the mission field in Brazil through the International Mission Board. Though he is a competent churchman in every aspect, his passion has always been music.
A graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Hall has served in many key roles in Pulaski Baptist Association, the Kentucky Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. He and his wife, Claudia, have three adult children and six grandchildren. (WR)
